Annie

July 17 to Aug 09

Book by Thomas Mehan

Music by Charles Strouse

Lyrics by Martin Charnin,

In The Lightfoot Auditorium

Everyones favourite orphan is centre stage in this hit Broadway musical! Left in a hard knock orphanage run by the less than kindly Miss Hannigan, Annie   escapes to an easier life on the street during the Great Depression; where ‘tomorrow’ is always brighter because of hope . . .and a certain stray dog that tags along for the fun.

Separated from her new pal Sandy when she is     returned to the orphanage, Annie escapes once again, this time to come back on the arm of a   billionaire’s secretary. Daddy Warbucks, capitalist complete, wants to entertain an orphan for Christmas.

And entertain he does! The rest of the holiday and   musical is a whirl of adventures as Annie charms Daddy Warbucks, F.D.R. the U.S. Cabinet and an  entire country. In the end, a merry Christmas is had by all, (except Miss Hannigan and Co.), as  Annie is adopted by Warbucks and re-united with Sandy. Featuring the evergreen “Tomorrow” and a host of other hummable songs, Annie is a perfect summer show for the entire family.

Spanning the years from his first successful career with his sister Adele to the MGM musicals and Ginger Rogers, this is a well rounded portrayal of one of Hollywood’s brightest lights. So come and have a swell time at our party! See the  career highlights of a true American   Master, who sings the songs and dances the     routines that made him famous!
